This is the first tutorial of the beginner`s lounge the newest category in PSDartist that will host beginners photoshop tutorials. If you like watching cartoons and reading comics, you may wonder how you can create similar images through Photoshop.
To create a half comic’s background is not easy, but as you’ll learn soon, the Pen Tool will help you create everything you need. Cropping may be tiring, but you’ll find it leads to amazing results!

Crop all pictures you want to place in the background and save it in PNG format. If you like using Pen Tool, you can easily get rid of the layers; just right click and select My Selection.

What’s the difference between Lasso Tool and Pen tool?

Lasso Tool is a bit manageable but you can only trace it in straight lines; it’s more like back to basic. Pen Tool is maybe confusing but it will help you trace an object better and can create curves. Click the mouse once, drag to shape and click dot + Alt to reconnect lines.

Change the colour through the New Adjustment Layer Option up in the menu where it says Layer.

Save the file first before you flatten the image. Go to Filter Option and select Artistic; you can test and choose the right effects to match your background.

Add clip arts to make it look interesting and cute! There you go; you’ve just created some tiptop artwork. Don’t forget to look into some cloud computing apps so you can print your work from anywhere.

Click File and select Place.

Pres Ctrl T to resize, rotate and move the image.

If you see Shape layers, delete and click the layer where you placed the image.

Use Blur Tool to soften the edge or crop it again. You can still edit the layer if you want.
