1) Before we start the interview I would like to thank you for this
opportunity. Please tell me when and how you got interested in
illustration and art?

Thank you very much for this invitation.

I was vary fascinated by pictures since I was very small, but after I’ve read and learned more about artists life and how they studied and painted, I realized I wanted to do that, as well.

2) What inspires you? What artists and illustrators do you admire?
I get inspired from all sort of things that I like: ideas, new or old paintings, illustrations, photography, things that I see while I’m walking on the street… I am fascinated by some of the children book illustrators, their ideas are so creative, unusual, and described in such diverse techniques. Some of my favorites are: Maurice Sendak, Charles Santore, Gennady Spirin, Olga Dugina and Andrej Dugin, Anne Romby.

3) How did you discovered your style ?
I think my style is a result of what I’ve learned so far and it just feels naturally.

4) What was your greatest project ? The one you loved the most to work on ?
While I was in High School I did a series of illustrations for Fables, La Fontaine. That was the moment when I discovered how amazing was to try to build up characters, to invent environments and situations, while adding a little bit of craziness and bringing my personal contribution to the text.

5) Name some websites you browse everyday.
Very often just before I start working, I check for some inspiration or just I want to see what is new in the industry on: itsartmag.com, cghub.com, designboom.com. Now that I’ve seen some very good images on psdartist.com I want to take some time to get a better look on them.

I hope some people will enjoy my works and I dream there’s a place and time where I can do only this.
