Hubert De Lartigue Interview and paintings

They look like ordinary pictures, yet they are not. They are spectacular paintings and I bet you don`t believe it and for those who don`t believe we added a video of the process. The author Hubert De Lartigue was borned in Angers, France in 1963. He is inspired by the beauty of the women. Enjoy.

1) Before we start the interview I would like to thank you for this opportunity. Please tell me when and how you got interested in illustration and art?
Thank you. When I was 16 I think. I was very impressed by an illustration of the english artist Chris Foss. I did one painting each week during years. I came to art by the illustration. SF illustration, then pin-ups and now Art!

2) What inspires you? What artists and illustrators do you admire?
The beauty of women and girls inspire me. I admire a lot of illustrators and painters. Especially americans. Frazetta, Rockwell, Elvgreen, Vargas etc. but also Khnopff, Tadema, Cabanel, Klimt, Waterhouse…

3) How did you discovered your style ?
I always do my best on each work. I try to be real. My style is the difference between the reality and my skills.

4) What was your greatest project ? The one you loved the most to work on ?
My greatest project was to work on my first exhibition at the Bernarducci Meisel Gallery named “Femmes artistes”. The next exhibition will be done from january 19 to february 25 at the same gallery. But the project I wish to work on is a serie about the Crazy Horse, the famous cabaret in Paris.
