Thursday Classic – menu photoshop tutorial

Hello everyone, as we are not ashamed of our past we decided starting today to have a new website section on PSDartist called “Thursday Classic” . Here we will submit on every thursday an old photoshop tutorial created around 2002-2005. Don`t be harsh on the comments, as we want with these tutorials to create a showcase of design evolution..


Green navigation menu photoshop tutorial

On this thursday classic we uploaded a photoshop tutorial original aired on 2004 that shows how to create a green navigation menu.

Step1.

In this tutorial we are going to make a menu. So start with a new file … and choose the size of the website you want. Make a new layer and make a rectangular selection like mine


Step2.

Now we want to make the buttons. So using the round rectangular tool with the settings in the image below on a new layer start making them. Folow the steps:

After you done click on the layer pannel and Press Ctrl+e to merge the buttons with the shape layers together.

Step3.

Take the dodge tool a 50 soft brush and make a line like in the image below. Then do it again. And them work more.

Step4.

Add the folowing settings:

Drop shadow:

Inner glow:

Step5.

For better detail make a new layer and usign the pencil with the settings below and draw like the image below:

Now add the following settings:

Outerglow

Innerglow:
